Global family-owned wine producers, Sogrape welcomed an exclusive group of wine industry tastemakers and media to The Cinnamon Club, in the heart of Westminster. Guests were invited to “unleash their inner explorers” as they discovered the inspiration and complexity behind the award-winning red wine, Silk & Spice, which recently hit the shelves at Waitrose supermarkets nationwide.

The evening was designed around exploration, celebrating the history and flavours of the Silk and Spice Route discovered by the Portuguese maritime adventurers. The atmosphere was warm, inviting and anchored by an engaging talk from historian and broadcaster Dr Sam Willis, whose storytelling paired beautifully with the wine’s narrative which took us back to the first discovery of the Silk and Spice Route.

Adding to the immersion, head winemaker, Diogo Sepúlveda, was also present to offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at the wine’s creation. From the Portuguese terroir to the final blend, Diogo’s insights highlighted the thoughtful balance of tradition and modernity in every bottle, creating space for a meaningful discussion around taste, tradition, and innovation.

The Cinnamon Club curated a menu of spice-led dishes, to complement and elevate the notes from Silk & Spice. From bold flavours to candid conversation, the event offered a fun and educational tasting experience.
Guests left with thoughtfully curated gift bags, featuring a bottle of Silk & Spice to enjoy at home and a bespoke spice box designed to highlight the wine’s tasting notes - extending the experience beyond the evening itself.

With wine, conversation, and culinary discovery flowing in perfect harmony, the event marked a true celebration of craftsmanship and connection, and a brand-new chapter for Sogrape in the UK market!
